You are invited to submit a proposal to speak at Enterprise Search Summit West 2008, which will be held September 23 & 24, 2008 in San Jose, CA (Pre-conference sessions September 22). Click here (or on the link above) to submit your proposal. The deadline for submitting proposals is May 8, 2008.
We seek dynamic speakers who can talk knowledgeably about detailed aspects of how to implement and manage search within an organization. The emphasis for Enterprise Search Summit West 2008 will be on how enterprise search software, enhancements, and solutions really work--taking an in-depth look at the complex issues that challenge experienced search managers and decision makers.
Ours is a well-informed, tech-savvy audience, so proposals should be specific and detailed. Consider topics such as:
- Going beyond text search: faceted navigation, entity extraction, contextual search, clustering, and visualization
- Search as a platform
- Business intelligence and search
- Tuning search (best bets, analytics, other tools and tactics to enhance search results)
- Selecting the right search engine--the choices and the decision process
- The business case for search
- Evaluating ROI on search
- Integration and back-end refinements
- Taxonomies, metadata, and classification
- Data mining and text analysis
- Compliance requirements and e-discovery
- Secure search
- Implementing or upgrading your enterprise search solution
- Hybrid search solutions
- Search-as-a-service
- Audio and video search inside the enterprise
- Case studies and real-world search
- Emerging search trends
Proposals that focus on a single facet of a search project or on one phase of a search implementation or application have the best chances for acceptance. Do not submit overviews or life histories. Be specific: What do you know or do best? What is the most forward-thinking, innovative part of your work?
If you represent a company that has an enterprise search software product, your best bet to be on our program is to collaborate with a customer to submit a case study to be presented by them, following the guidelines above and on the website.
Thank you. I look forward to receiving your proposals.
