Mr. Bennett is the founder of New Idea Engineering, Inc. and was also the co-founder and CTO of Searchbutton, Inc. He is a respected industry thought leader and author.
Since 1996 New Idea Engineering, Inc. has been helping Fortune 1000 companies successfully implement enterprise search. NIE provides skilled consulting services for search engine evaluation, installation, and implementations, as well as ongoing help as content and search trends change. Mark is the lead architect and senior coder for the NIE SearchTrack and XPump products. Although common practice now, Searchbutton.com was one of the first companies to offer hosted search, hosted search analytics, and instant results customization. Prior to NIE/Searchbutton, Mr. Bennett served as director of technical support at Verity, Inc., at that time the world leader in search and retrieval technology. He pioneered the company's first customer care CD and 24x7 premium support. His experience also includes programming, senior technical support, engineering and database development positions at Access Technology and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Bennett also writes for and administers several blogs and newsletters including the NIE Enterprise Search Newsletter (www.ideaeng.com/current), EnterpriseSearchBlog.com, SearchComponentsOnline.com and SearchDev.org.
Mark attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of New Hampshire and Northeastern University. Mr. Bennett is the founder and moderator of the Stanford Quantum Groupies, an online physics and mathematics SIG.
