After graduating from technical mathematics at Delft University Wim van Geloven started his career as a research geophysicist.
After this he changed his interests to the fields of information and public security. He had several positions (business consultant, projectmanager and productmanager) with central IT department of the Dutch Ministry of Defence. On the field of information security he develop a number of innovative security products and services, developed the security architecture for the Ministry and created new standards for security governance.
In the field of public security he worked on chain integration within and between departments and developed and implemented governance models.
Since November 2005 he is VP of Information Technology at the National Coordinator for counterterrorism. In this role he is responsible for the programme Security Improvement through Information Awareness where new methods are developed for intelligence and investigation both in the fields of counterterrorism and police. Furthermore he is the chairman of the innovation board in the field of counterterrorism and prevention of radicalisation.
Since febuary 2009 he is businessmanager at the dutch forensic institute.
Wim van Geloven is 38 years old, is married and has two small children.
